Ancestral Lineage Healing Intensive
Fairbanks, Alaska
August 14 - 16

Ancestral Lineage Healing

About
the work

Ancestral lineage healing is an ancient practice made newly accessible for relating directly with one's ancestors. Through a process of connecting in prayer with the goodness and medicine of our people, we create healing for ourselves, our family, and culturally for the good of all.

In connection with our wise and well ancestors, Jody and Kama will guide you in the ritual technology for accessing the gifts and power of your people to heal inter-generational trauma. Our work is expressly animist, Earth-honoring, and anti-supremacist and will cultivate opportunities for restorative justice and repair across intersectional contexts of harm.

Ch'eno Kenaga' & Tanana Khwt'ana Dené

Our gathering is about a 20-minute walk from the Chena River which flows into the Tanana River in what is now known as Fairbanks, Alaska. This land is the current and ancestral hunting, fishing, and gathering grounds of the Lower Tanana Dené, or the Tth'itu' Xwt'ana, some of the many First Peoples of Alaska. The original language of this place is Ch'eno Kenaga' and according to traditional wisdom, this language and these folks have been here forever.

As colonizing scientists might say, the oldest undisputed human archaeological sites in North America—including Swan Point in the Tanana Valley—date back roughly 14,000 years. These sites display early tool technologies and genetic ties directly to the ancestors of the Tanana Athabaskans.

Those new to ancestor work, adoptees, and folks with a tough experience of family are welcome.
